There was never been a year that goes by where I don’t travel or go on a holiday. Yes, there is a difference. HCMC was travelling, there was very lil relaxing during that trip, too much shopping but we travelled. Phuket was a holiday, I’ve been before and mostly just lazed. I like to travel and holiday once a year, so yes = 2 trips a year. We had planned to do the Sydney & Melbourne trip this year but the money is needed elsewhere and I can’t be jumping outta a plan or absail, so NO. I want to go somewhere that I’ve never been before and I’d like to fly there and it needs to satisfy both the travel and holiday aspects, cos seriously with R’s and my time-table; we only have a window in early April.
Chiangmai – R really wants to go BUT… we’d have to take Silk Air (not cheap) and I can’t sit on an elephant, can’t trek, can’t jump in the waterfall. How bloody depressing. So NO.
Kota Kinabalu – Now I had plans to head there in March to climb the mountain. So going there, looking at the mountain and knowing that it’s gonna be a while before I can take that hike is freaking depressing. So NO.
Bali – AGAIN? No.
Bangkok – No thai massages!! What’s the point?! And I’ve been many many times. No.
Boracay – Looks perfect but getting there is a bit of a hassle, gotta change planes and fly domestic, I know R won’t be keen in my state.
So I still like the idea of Hong Kong. R gets to eat, I can handle a little hiking, we can shop and we’ve both never been, it’s perfect. I just to convince him we can relax in the madness and loudness that is Hong Kong and that it’s not that polluted. Plus Jetstar flies there so the tickets are reasonable. He’ll let me know once his timetable is cleared in 2/3 weeks and then we can confirm. Twiddle thumbs.
